London 2012: The Legacy of Female Athletes

The 2012 London Olympic Games marked the first time in history that female athletes have been able to compete in every Olympic sport. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Brunei sent women to compete for the very first time. And Canada, China and the United States sent more female athletes than males to compete for the podium. Surely, London will undoubtedly be remembered for the strong presence of female athletes and their successes.
