It’s that time again.
After a great year with McClung’s, it’s time to push out the old and bring in the new. Arti and Kristina, the current editors, will be stepping down from their positions upon graduation, so we’re looking for a new pair of Editors-in-Chief.
If you are interested, we encourage you to apply. However, preference will be given to students who are going into their fourth year and have previous experience working with McClung’s.
The two editors-in-chief are the organizers of the whole operation. You will be responsible for:
-hire individuals for the masthead
-coordinate all general and art meetings
-creating and balancing the budget
-oversee editorial and art direction of the magazine including editing pieces
-multitask while wearing multiple hats if things fall through
-overlook the social media portion of the magazine
The ideal candidate has excellent time-management and organization skills, the desire to mentor fellow students, a keen eye for detail and design, excellent writing and editing abilities, and a passion for women’s issues and human rights. While it is helpful to have taken magazine courses it is not a necessity for applications.
Please email us a resume, cover letter and a few digital clippings (optional) at firstname.lastname@example.org detailing why you think you’re the perfect candidate for the position and any ideas you have for next year’s issues (including content, management, circulation and fundraising ideas). Please put “EIC application” in the subject line.
The deadline is Wednesday, April 20th at noon. Feel free to contact us if you have any additional questions.
Please note this is an unpaid volunteer position.
